There are some love stories you just instantly feel connected to — and Will & Delaney are one of those couples. From the moment Will reached out to plan this Lake Woodlands proposal, I knew this day would be something incredibly special. Planning the Perfect Surprise at Lake Woodlands
Will put so much care into creating a moment Delaney would remember forever. He knew he wanted something natural, peaceful, and meaningful, a location that held beauty without distraction.
Lake Woodlands ended up being the perfect choice: warm sun, quiet walking paths, the reflection of the water, and just enough breeze to make everything feel soft and romantic. And more than that, but these two love paddle boarding on the water (or as Delaney says, “more like swimming with a floaty”)
The ladies of the Croft family took the set up by storm! When I walked to the site, my jaw dropped right to the ground. STUNNING!!!
Delaney thought she was simply meeting Will for an afternoon walk. She had no idea what was waiting for her.
As they approached the proposal spot, you could see it on Will’s face, that shift from nervous excitement to full presence. He took her hands, spoke words that were clearly straight from the heart, and then dropped to one knee.
Her reaction was everything.
Pure joy. Pure surprise. Pure love.
The sun hit them just right, the lake behind them sparkled, and the whole moment felt soft and holy, one of those quiet gifts God puts in front of you and says, “Take this in.”
After she said YES (!!!), we spent time exploring the area for a small engagement session. These two fall into each other so naturally — the kind of couple who looks comfortable just by being close.
Their photos are full of warmth, movement, and the ease that comes from being with your person. The sunset gave us the prettiest golden glow, and Lake Woodlands gave us endless peaceful corners to document their excitement.
This was one of those sessions where everything just clicks, the couple, the location, the timing, the emotion. A little blessing of a day.
